Class to view the following video 1st :)

Group work.  Split the class into groups of max 4. Have groups complete the following questions. All names on 1 piece of paper to hand in with answers. 

Group Work Questions:

1. Materialism - What is it? In your own words - (teacher may need to assist).

2. How does materialism (excess stuff) affect our lives? future careers? life goals?

3. Minimalism - What is it? In your own words - 

4. What was your favourite part of the video? Why?

Class Discussion re: answers to above questions once all groups have completed their work. 15 min group work time allocation.

Hazards  What unsafe conditions or acts are there? SEE IT What could happen as a result of an unsafe act or condition? THINK IT What must be done to eliminate or minimize the hazard? DO IT  Hazards exist in our life, including at work, home, school and at social events. We need to develop skills to be able to recognize, evaluate and control these hazards before injury occurs.  What potential hazards exist in a class setting or other classes in the school? What hazards could be created in a class setting or other classes due to unsafe practices or poor safety procedures?
